China International Contractors Association (CHINCA) held a press conference in Beijing on September 9, announcing that the 13th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) will be held in Macao from September 28 to 29. The 8th China-LAC Infrastructure Forum, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China, will be held concurrently. As the largest of its kind this year, the 13th IIICF gains great attention from the industry.

Themed on "Jointly Building High-standard, Sustainable and People-centered Infrastructure", the 13th IIICF will shed light on the new situation and opportunities of international infrastructure cooperation in the post-pandemic era, and engage industry elites to discuss cutting-edge topics such as regional infrastructure connectivity, innovative and diverse investment and financing systems, digital transformation of the industry, coordinated development of the industry chain and the supply chain, green infrastructure and green energy, smart transportation and smart city building.

In the post-pandemic era, developing sustainable infrastructure to cope with climate change, improving public services and promoting economic recovery will be top priorities for various countries in the world, said Fang Qiuchen, Chairman of CHINCA at the press conference. The Belt and Road Initiative and Global Development Initiative proposed by China will inject new impetus for broadening international infrastructure cooperation and promoting the implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The 13th IIICF will also release The Belt and Road Infrastructure Development Index (2022) and Index Report, to illustrate the current situation of international infrastructure development and provide a scientific reference for international infrastructure cooperation. Meanwhile, a Launching Ceremony on Mechanism for International Sustainable Infrastructure Promotion will also be held to further promote the diversified, inclusive, green, low-carbon and climate-resilient development of sustainable infrastructure.

The 13th IIICF is warmly received and echoed by global industry, attracting more than 1,300 officials and professionals, including the ambassadors and chargé d'affaires of more than 40 countries and regions to China, as well as senior executives of international contractors, financial institutions, engineering consulting firms, engineering equipment suppliers and other industrial service providers.
